Daniel Patrick Cohen Music

Biography

“With 67 musicians playing 32 songs in 40 minutes, the music is all over the map but the project is engaging and the timbres change so quickly the listener never wants to change the channel.” – A Closer Listen on Daniel Patrick Cohen’s 2022 album We Deliver

Daniel is a Londoner based in Romania with a range of musical interests, including film music and hip hop.

Daniel’s form of choice is the album. His most recent effort We Deliver was accurately described by the record label as “gigantically gigantic as it is gigantically ungigantic”. His first was named after the Michelangelo Antonioni film The Passenger, inspired by a David Lynch quote describing Barry Adamson’s music being “like hearing Hitchcock films in your head”.

He first garnered international attention when he was among a handful of composers invited to produce scores for Alfred Hitchcock’s silent films as part of the British Film Institute’s ‘Rescue the Hitchcock 9’ project. The resulting 90min score for The Pleasure Garden was published by Faber Music and performed at film festivals around the world.

He has given seminars on his music in the UK, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
